Editor's Note

Dear Readers,

It's been a remarkable period of world history since the last issue of Megaera was released. Surely no one's life has gone unaffected by the unforseen events of the last few months. People around the world have united against those whose idealogy, among even more egregious facets, limits the freedom of expression. Though this recent unification could not have had a more horrendous catalyst, it will (ideally, anyway) lead to a better understanding between the world's cultures. The written word is perhaps some of the strongest ammunition against oppression, though we make no grandiose claims about the importance of our little slip-shod literary magazine, we also want to acknowledge that the freedom to write and to share those writings to the world can be one of the most powerful ways to gain this understanding. This issue contains work from many writers who have never written for Megaera before, and several who have. Our writers come from (at least) four different countries. Muhammad Nasrullah Khan, whose story "Crippled Soul" is included in this issue, wrote a note to our staff from his home in Pakistan. We encourage you to read it.

On another note, we need more short stories, people! Send 'em our way!
