Megaera came into existence about two years ago. It began mostly as a way for us to kill some time and have something to show for it. The first issue featured a few submissions solicited from people we knew, just to get us started. Since then, each issue has grown in scope and size. This issue, our sixth, features work from nineteen people. Some of them have been previously published in Megaera; others are new to us. Some have had work published previously; others make their premiere with Megaera. As time goes on, our submissions per issue (or SPI) increases. With luck, we will continue to receive more top notch work, and may expand from a triannual publication to a quarterly. Also, for the first time since issue one, we are featuring an art contribution, which appears as our cover. We encourage future art submissions of all types, we may at some point develop a separate art section. Thanks to our contributors, as we could not have made it this long without you. It is a pleasure to be able to read the work sent to us, to discover emerging writers, and to provide an online presence for, we hope, consistently high-quality literature. -peo Back to Megaera 6 |
