If I were perhaps a more poetic person
I might say something different
than those cars climbing up the hill
look like small bugs with headlights
lodged deep within their engine skulls.

But, alas, I’m not
I’m cold
and I’m only a writer
when I’m writing
unlike millions of others
who have elevated themselves
to the profession of poetry.
